IZM | TEXHNOLYZED SOULS [FUTURISTIC/GLITCH/TECH D'N'B]

Ez!

Here’s another concept mix of mine, this time focusing on futuristic flavours in todays Drum’n’Bass. In the recent years there has been a fair amount of progressive glitch / idm / minimal / techno influenced sound coming mainly out of Neurofunk / Technoid scene and we can also see harder D’n’B camp crossing over to more experimental territories especially in regards to drum patterns. This set aims to showcase such tracks which I think are often pinned under neuro/angerstep tag and kind of slept on.

Techniquewisely I tried to match the complexities of tunes used so there are a lot of cuts, tricks and unusual blends, sounds flowing in and out of each other etc. The purpose here was to go slightly beyond the formula of a standard promo mix and really merge the elements together to create a perfect listening machinery…

…which is also reflected by the mix’s cover. Partial inspiration here was Goldie’s Saturnzreturn album art with its skull-like device which made (at least me) wonder what exactly is it I see.

Nice one there, really enjoyed it (although I'm not really a technoid/neurofunk fan). Big up for the KM & LS - Last Samurai, and an even bigger awe for the Nuance - Tread (big up the Cov. Ops. family!)

Hey bro, thanks! I rate comments like yours the most to be honest, there's nothing better like broadening people's perspective a bit (and yes I converted my girlfriend's mum and my 15 year old cousin into D'n'B with this mix as well! haha).
